Happy. Healthy. Alive. We all have something to be thankful for.
I’m not the most religious person however spiritually very connected. I feel at most peace just sitting in the Gurdwara (Sikh temple) and contemplating how my life is going. One of the most fulfilling or peaceful times of the day is when I speak to God. I know the hypocrisy surrounded with the belief of God and some of you may disagree however for me it has been a real eye-opening experience. God is always there for me to talk to as well as giving me the strength and courage to face each day whether it is an exam, preparing to meet someone new or just a typical, ordinary day. Now I’m not saying you have to believe in God however just take a minute to show your gratitude for all the good things in your life. For the past couple of years, every day I say I’m thankful for the same three words in the title. It is so easy to take what you have in life for granted but constantly remind yourself of what you have as oppose to what you do not have. It allowed me to really appreciate life, particularly the more subtle things. Also, a key note is to understand the difference between being spoilt and privileged – chose which one you want to be. So every once in a while, take a second to re-evaluate how life is going and be grateful for all your blessings.
